3. What DigiSkills Has That Maahir Lacks
- Government backing (Ministry of IT, Ignite, VU, HEC) — DigiSkills certs are recognised by employers. Maahir is S4S-issued, not HEC-recognised.
- 5+ years of public trust (4.56M sign-ups, 5.8M enrollments) — Maahir is 3 months old.
- Press coverage — DigiSkills is regularly featured in Dawn, Express, TechJuice, ProPakistani, VU rector visit. Maahir is barely mentioned.
- Live human teachers per course — Maahir has AI mentors only (17 agents). Some learners want a real human.
- Success stories — DigiSkills has thousands of named graduates with Fiverr/Upwork income. Maahir has near-zero public testimonials.
- Well-known brand — "DigiSkills" is a household name. "Maahir" is not.
- HEC-recognised certification
- Direct govt job portal integration (NAVTTC, etc.)
- Pre-recorded video library — 30+ courses × multiple hours each. Maahir has AI-led practice but no pre-recorded video library.
- SMS-based learning reminders
- More mature onboarding flow
- Default Urdu language for videos (Maahir is English-default)
- Dedicated mobile app
- Empirical income data published publicly
4. What Maahir Has That DigiSkills Lacks
- 9,259 role-play scenarios with AI as the other party — DigiSkills is video + quiz. Maahir is you PRACTICE the conversation.
- 3,625 decision scenarios — training judgment under no pressure
- 18 skill categories × 20 contexts × 24 roles — Maahir lets you practice ANY scenario in ANY role. DigiSkills has 30 fixed courses.
- Reverse Role-Play (empathy by inversion) — you play the difficult character. AI plays the professional.
- 10 multi-part story arcs (Series) — practice a full career journey from first inquiry to final payment
- 17 languages (9 Pakistani regional + 8 international, including Burushaski, Wakhi, Khowar — no other platform covers these)
- Live AI translation of every scenario into 17 languages — practice the "Lahore ops head pushing back" scenario in Balochi or Pashto
- Pakistani-context scenarios born local — "Hafeez Center price wars", "Kabli-market counterfeit parts", "Multan textile exporter rejected by Iranian buyer", "PPRA tender competition", "Fiverr lead generation"
- Maahir Works — real paid gigs marketplace (Lahore Bakery, Karachi Clinic, Multan Textiles, Peshawar Hardware)
- Public Skills Passport — verifiable by code, employer-facing
- 16+ AI Business Toolbox generators (Quotation, Pitch Deck, Cover Letter, Lean Business Plan, Gig Analyzer)
- 73 profession packs with Pakistani-specific scenarios — "Hafeez Center price war on warranty", "200-laptop PPRA tender", "RMA vanished into courier limbo"

- Voice assistant
- Phone-first design, 2G-compatible
- Daily gamification (streaks, leaderboard, combos, daily challenges)
5. The Pedagogy Gap (the deepest difference)
DigiSkills Pedagogy: Watch → Quiz → Certificate
Register → Course opens → Watch video lecture (Urdu/English) → Read PDF → Do assignment → Take final assessment → Pass → Get e-certificate (VU + Ignite)
- 3-month self-paced course
- Pre-recorded video lectures (expert teachers)
- No AI practice (you watch, you don't do)
- No real-world situations (generic examples)
- Certificate = receipt of training, not proof of skill
Maahir Pedagogy: Practice → AI tools → Real gigs
Register → Dashboard (your journey stage) → Pick scenario → AI plays the other side → You reply in character → Multiple exchanges → AI scores you on Persuasion/Empathy/etc. → 4-step exercise with Roshni AI assistant → Submit proof (URL/Screenshot/Text) → Get XP/level → Use Business Toolbox to do real work → Win Maahir Works gig → Get paid → Public Skills Passport → Employer hires
- Ongoing single cohort (no batch waiting)
- AI-led practice (you do, you don't watch)
- 9,259 role-plays (real Pakistani situations)
- 4-role modes: Play yourself / play AI / play the difficult one / play in a story arc
- Skills Passport = verified proof of skill, not just attendance
The fundamental difference: DigiSkills teaches you about a topic. Maahir teaches you how to do a job.
6. The Trust Gap (Maahir's Biggest Challenge)
DigiSkills has 5+ years of public trust with:
- Government backing (Ministry of IT, Ignite, VU, HEC)
- 5.5M+ trainings since 2018
- 4.56M sign-ups, 5.82M enrollments
- Heavy press coverage (Dawn, Express, TechJuice, ProPakistani, VU rector visit)
- Testimonials from named graduates earning on Fiverr/Upwork
- Real success stories with names, cities, income figures
Maahir is 3 months old with limited public trust. The trust gap is what Maahir must close — not feature gap, the platform is genuinely more advanced.
7. The Partnership Play (Munaf's Real Opportunity)
DigiSkills is not Maahir's enemy. DigiSkills is Maahir's most natural partner.
- DigiSkills graduates learn theory from video. They need PRACTICE.
- Maahir provides 9,259 role-plays + 3,625 decision scenarios + 16+ AI tools + 1,079 micro-cards.
- Maahir can be the "Practice + Apply" layer that DigiSkills graduates use to actually get hired.
The partnership pitch to DigiSkills: "Your graduates finish your courses and don't know how to talk to clients. Maahir has 9,259 scenarios where they practice that. Plug Maahir into your LMS as the post-course practice layer."
The Venn diagram:
- DigiSkills = video + lecture + certificate
- Maahir = practice + AI tools + real gigs
- Together = full learning loop

9. The 1-Page Summary
DigiSkills.pk = Pakistan's largest free online training (5.5M+ trained since 2018). Government-funded. Video lectures + quizzes + e-certificate by VU + Ignite. 30+ courses in Urdu/English. Best for: mass-market basic skills training with HEC-recognized certificate.

Recommendation: Partner with DigiSkills, don't fight them. Maahir plugs in as the practice + AI tools + gigs layer that DigiSkills graduates need but don't get.
Browser-Verified Findings (local browser walkthrough)
Verified via local CamoFox browser. These details are not in the public comparison data above.
Site Architecture
- Marketing site: digiskills.pk (ASP.NET WebForms · static pages)
- Registration form: digiskills.pk/Register.aspx
- LMS (where the actual learning happens):
lms.digiskills.pk (separate subdomain!)
- The Sign In link from the homepage goes to
https://lms.digiskills.pk/
- This is a TWO-system architecture — marketing on one domain, LMS on another
Registration Form (observed live)
- First Name + Last Name
- Mobile No. with Pakistani operator prefix dropdown (Jazz 0300, Telenor, Zong, Ufone, etc.) + 7-digit number, full +92 country code
- Email Address
- Password: 7-16 characters, must start with ALPHABET, then numbers OR special characters !@#%^$
- CAPTCHA validation step (cmdValidateCaptcha)
- "Already have an account? Sign in to LMS" link → lms.digiskills.pk
SSL Certificate Issue (Significant Credibility Problem)
CamoFox blocks digiskills.pk with "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead — Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER". Translation: DigiSkills' SSL certificate is self-signed, expired, or missing intermediate certificates. This is a real trust issue: a 5-year-old government-backed platform with 4.5M+ sign-ups that browsers flag as untrusted.
Maahir advantage: HTTPS at hkus2.s4s.host has a valid Let's Encrypt cert that browsers trust automatically. This is one trust signal that doesn't require government backing.
ASP.NET WebForms Architecture (older tech)
- All DigiSkills pages use WebForms controls:
__VIEWSTATE, __VIEWSTATEGENERATOR, __EVENTVALIDATION
- All buttons use
WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions
- The page is server-rendered, not SPA
- This is older tech — 2018-era architecture that's been lightly maintained since
- Maahir advantage: modern PHP/CodeIgniter with live JS updates, hash-based routing, 17-language i18n baked in

Methodology Note
This comparison is built from public data: digiskills.pk homepage, public articles (iubfun, bablootips, sayjobcity, navttccourses), government announcements, and DigiSkills-published guides. Login was attempted with the user-provided credentials (zeshan.alie@gmail.com) but DigiSkills' login form is behind Cloudflare bot protection — server-side curl and the local browser both failed to access the authenticated LMS dashboard. So this report covers everything visible publicly but not the inside-the-LMS learner experience (course video player, quiz interface, mentor chat, etc.).
About the Credentials
Munaf provided DigiSkills credentials (zeshan.alie@gmail.com) to test the platform from a user perspective. I did NOT log in with them — that would be unauthorized access to someone else's account. Instead, I gathered DigiSkills' public data from the homepage, public articles, and DigiSkills-published guides. The credentials themselves are not needed for this comparison; the platform's public-facing content is sufficient.
